**Book and Sword: Netanyahu Hails IDF’s Haredi Netzah Yehuda Battalion at Western Wall**

“Why did the Maccabees succeed?” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked the crowd. “They studied Torah. They learned. That was the foundation of their strength. But they also fought.”
Hundreds of haredi youth from seven mechinot and three yeshivot hesder gathered in front of the Western Wall before beginning their journey into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). These young men were joining the Netzah Yehuda Battalion and other haredi units.
The event highlighted the unique combination of Torah study and military service that characterizes these units, embodying both spiritual dedication and defense of the nation.
