Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh has emphasized that the world should take a cue from India on how to quickly end military conflicts. Speaking at an event in Delhi, ACM Singh highlighted the prolonged nature of current global conflicts, citing the Russia-Ukraine war and the ongoing conflict involving Israel.

“The main wars that are going on today—be it Russia-Ukraine or the Israel war—they are going on, years have passed, because no one is thinking about conflict termination,” he said.

### Operation Sindoor: A Case in Swift Conflict Resolution

ACM Singh referred to India’s recent experience with Operation Sindoor as an example of prompt and effective conflict resolution.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 people. In response, the Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructure deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. During the operation, nine terror launch pads were destroyed, and over 100 terrorists were eliminated.

Despite facing drone and missile attacks from Pakistan, India maintained its focus strictly on military targets and decisively called off the offensive on May 10, just three days after it began.

### Why Quick Conflict Termination Matters

Defending India’s decision to end the conflict after achieving its objectives, ACM Singh questioned the rationale behind prolonged engagements.

“If our objectives have been met, then why should we not terminate a conflict?” he asked. “Because any conflict has a lot of price which has to be paid. It will affect our preparedness for the next one. It will affect our economy.”

He stressed that continuing a war unnecessarily not only drains resources but also hampers a nation’s readiness for future challenges and stalls economic progress.

### Conclusion

ACM Singh’s remarks underscore the importance of timely and strategic conflict termination. India’s approach during Operation Sindoor serves as a valuable example for the international community on how swift, purposeful actions combined with an early cessation of hostilities can protect national interests while minimizing prolonged suffering and resource depletion.
