Sri Lankan cricketers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera have recently set a new record for the highest partnership in T20 Asia Cup history. The duo put together an impressive 127 runs off just 70 balls for the second wicket against India on September 26 in Dubai. This remarkable partnership came during a challenging chase of 203 runs.

### #3 – 127 Runs: Pathum Nissanka & Kusal Perera vs India, 2025
The 127-run stand against India ranks third on the list. After Sri Lanka lost opener Kusal Mendis for a golden duck early in the innings, Perera joined Nissanka in the middle. Nissanka delivered a blistering 107 runs off 58 balls, while Perera contributed an aggressive 58 off just 32 balls. Despite their efforts, the match ended in a tie, with India prevailing in the Super Over.
### #2 – 145 Runs: Tillakaratne Dilshan & Mahela Jayawardene vs England, 2014
The second-highest partnership for Sri Lanka belongs to Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan. This partnership took place during the 2014 T20 World Cup against England in Chattogram. Dilshan came in at number three following Kusal Perera’s early dismissal. Jayawardene dominated the innings, scoring 89 off 51 balls, while Dilshan added 55 runs off 47 balls. The partnership helped Sri Lanka reach a total of 189/4, but England ultimately won the match.

At the top of the list is the iconic 166-run partnership between Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara during the 2010 T20 World Cup match against the West Indies in Bridgetown. Opening the innings, Jayawardene showcased outstanding batting and remained unbeaten on 98 runs off 56 balls. Sangakkara supported with 68 runs off 49 balls. Their partnership guided Sri Lanka to a commanding total of 195/3, leading to a 57-run victory. This stand remains the third-highest partnership in T20 World Cup history.
