The suspects include Ryusei Tokushige, a 33-year-old senior member of the Yamaguchi-gumi crime syndicate, along with another man. According to investigators, they are accused of conspiring with Kohei Mitani, who was already arrested in June on suspicion of murder, to transport the body of a 23-year-old victim from Kyoto Prefecture to Kochi Prefecture.
The body is alleged to have been left in the area surrounding Okawa Village in Kochi. Police believe the two men arranged a vehicle to move the body and may have been involved in the crime through their connections with Mitani.
On September 26th, human remains believed to be bones were discovered in a mountainous area of Kochi. Authorities are currently conducting forensic tests to confirm whether the remains belong to the victim.
The investigation is ongoing as police continue to examine the suspects’ roles in both the killing and the subsequent cover-up. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
