MANILA, Philippines – Filipino tennis sensation Alex Eala overcame a tough opening challenge from Poland’s Katarzyna Kawa, winning 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 in their rain-delayed round of 32 match at the WTA 125 Suzhou Open on Tuesday in China.
The match was interrupted by rain, causing a suspension of play for a few hours during the first set when the score was tied at 2-2. Despite the delay, Eala managed to maintain her focus and fought hard to secure the victory.
