The Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) has taken a stand to protect its members from what it describes as censorship disguised as revoked access.
This move comes after the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) temporarily barred Spin.ph from covering the recent FIVB World Men’s Championship.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the PSA emphasized that any official or organization that restricts journalistic access undermines press freedom and the role of sports media in delivering timely and accurate coverage.
The PSA has since adopted new measures to safeguard its members’ rights and ensure fair treatment in future sporting events and press activities.
