A video capturing Rohit Sharma’s amusing and lively gestures during his entry at the CEAT Cricket Awards in Mumbai has gone viral on social media. In the clip, Rohit can be seen cheerfully saying, “Main Upar Jaaa Raha hu,” as fans eagerly tried to click pictures. One lucky fan even managed to get an autograph from the former India skipper on his bat.

The 38-year-old cricketer grabbed the limelight after receiving a special award for leading the Indian team to a Champions Trophy title earlier this year. This achievement marked India’s second successive ICC trophy under his leadership, following their T20 World Cup win in Barbados in June 2024. Rohit received the prestigious award from cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar.

Currently, Rohit Sharma is focused on maintaining top physical fitness as India prepares for the upcoming ODI series in Australia. Although he has recently handed over captaincy responsibilities, Rohit remains a crucial member of the squad as they gear up for the challenging tour later this month.

### Rohit Sharma on Facing Australia

As Team India prepares for the ODI and T20I series down under, Rohit Sharma described Australia as one of the most exciting challenges in international cricket. He said, “I love playing against Australia, love going there, people in Australia love cricket a lot.”

Rohit will participate as a specialist batter for India, opening the innings alongside the new captain, Shubman Gill. The Hitman has an impressive record against Australia, having scored 990 runs in 19 ODIs played on Australian soil.

Rohit’s stint as India’s ODI captain recently came to an end when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming series, naming Shubman Gill as the next ODI skipper. Despite stepping down from leadership, Rohit continues to be an integral part of the team’s lineup.
