Taylor Swift’s latest album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, has made an extraordinary impact in the music industry, selling an astonishing 2.7 million copies on its very first day in the US. This milestone marks her biggest single-day sales ever and the second-highest sales week for any album since Luminate began tracking data in 1991.
The only album to surpass this feat is Adele’s *25*, which sold 3.378 million copies during its debut week in 2015.
### Record-Breaking Vinyl Sales
*The Life of a Showgirl* has also shattered vinyl album sales records, moving 1.2 million vinyl copies in a single week. This breaks the previous record held by Swift herself with her 2024 album, *The Tortured Poets Department*, which sold 859,000 vinyl copies in its first week.
### Box Office Triumph
In addition to her record-breaking album sales, Taylor Swift’s concert film, *The Official Release Party of a Showgirl*, dominated the box office. It grossed $33 million in North America during its opening weekend, according to Sunday estimates from Comscore.
Internationally, the film earned another $13 million, playing in all 540 AMC theaters across the US for over three days, highlighting the massive excitement surrounding her releases.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently announced a significant achievement for Swift: she is now the first and only female artist to surpass 100 million album sales in the US. To date, Swift has sold 105 million albums, ranking her sixth among the highest-selling artists of all time. She stands alongside music legends such as The Beatles, Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley, Eagles, and Led Zeppelin.
