**BJP Leaders Clash with Police Outside Durgapur Gang-Rape Survivor’s Hospital**

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders were stopped by police from meeting a medical student who alleged she was gang-raped in Durgapur, West Bengal. The incident occurred behind a private medical college on Friday evening.
The victim, a second-year MBBS student from Odisha, was reportedly attacked in a secluded area near the hospital premises. Due to safety concerns, her father has stated that he plans to take her home.
**Criticism Voiced by BJP Leaders**
BJP leader Locket Chatterjee criticized the police for their presence inside the hospital and described the situation as a “Talibani rule” under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She questioned why police were allowed inside the hospital while doctors were not.
Another BJP MLA, Agnimitra Paul, condemned Banerjee’s comments advising girls to stay indoors at night, drawing parallels between her administration’s stance and that of the Taliban.
**Legal Proceedings**
Three accused individuals—Sk Riaz Uddin, Sk Firdoush, and Appu—have been arrested in connection with the case. A Durgapur court remanded them to 10 days of police custody.
Responding to the incident, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remarked, “The girl was studying in a private medical college. How she came out at night at 12:30? So far as I know, it (the incident) happened in a forest area.”
The case continues to develop amid ongoing public and political attention.
