TMZSports.com recently caught up with FaZe co-founder Banks in Los Angeles to get his take on a recent controversy involving Twitch CEO Dan Clancy. Clancy sparked debate by stating that popular streamers Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed did not belong on his “Mt. Rushmore of streamers.” However, Banks strongly disagrees, insisting that there is no one more deserving of that recognition in his mind.
Banks explained that he wanted to see the full context of Clancy’s comments before weighing in. “We live in, like, a clipping culture. Very narrative-driven. Like, I don’t know, I need to see the whole conversation,” he said.
In Clancy’s defense, he emphasized that a Mt. Rushmore should be more historical. While Kai and Speed are massively popular right now, Clancy believes it’s too early to “chisel them into his granite” just yet.
Regardless, Banks is clear about where he stands. To him, Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed are the best streamers going today and would be his top picks for the hypothetical streaming Mt. Rushmore. “Kai and Speed are top two dead or alive, for sure,” Banks stated.
When asked who else would make the cut on his version of the streamer Mt. Rushmore, Banks named a few other notable creators: “Adin Ross, TFue, RiceGum, and FaZe Adapt.”
With Banks’ perspective, it’s clear that while opinions on streaming legends may vary, the impact of these creators is undeniable.
