As we enter the final months of 2025, several notable game releases are making their way to consoles. Among the surprises is *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, which is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2.
This week, Ubisoft officially announced that the new Japan-based *Assassin’s Creed* title will be coming to Nintendo’s recently launched console. Fans can look forward to playing *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* on the Switch 2 starting December 2, 2025.
One exciting feature accompanying this release is cross-progression support. Nintendo confirmed that if you have save files from other platforms, such as PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X/S, you will be able to continue your progress seamlessly on the Switch 2. This means players won’t have to start the game over and can easily jump back in wherever they left off.
*Assassin’s Creed Shadows* originally launched earlier this year to positive reviews. Shacknews’ writer Aiden O’Brien praised the game for its beautifully realized world, engaging combat, and the compelling contrast between the characters Yasuke and Naoe.
The game quickly became one of the fastest-selling titles in the *Assassin’s Creed* series, surpassing 1 million units sold on its very first day of release.
