FromSoftware has announced a delay for the release of *Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition*, pushing it back to 2026. The studio made this decision to focus on improving the game’s performance on Nintendo’s upcoming console.
The delay was confirmed through an official statement shared by FromSoftware on X. *Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition* was originally revealed during the Switch 2 Direct event in April, generating significant excitement among fans.
The game was later playable at Gamescom in August. However, players who experienced the Switch 2 version reported concerningly poor performance issues. In light of this feedback, FromSoftware has prioritized performance improvements, which is the primary reason behind the delay.
Fans can expect the developers to use this additional time to optimize *Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition* for the new hardware, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable gameplay experience upon release.
