There are lots of horrible places to discover in *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, and Bilewater is definitely one of the worst. Between the traps, grub-infested waters, and the general miasma, it’s got it all. Finding the map for Bilewater is a challenge on its own, as you need a late-game item just to access the area where you can find Shakra. ### How to Find Shakra and Buy the Bilewater Map
To find Shakra and obtain the Bilewater map, the first step is to make your way to Mount Fay and claim the Faydown Cloak, which unlocks the double jump ability. Without this ability, you cannot reach where Shakra is located.
Mount Fay is situated far to the west of Bilewater itself. You need to reach the summit of this frigid mountain to unlock the double jump. Depending on your journey, you might not have even seen Bilewater by the time you acquire the Faydown Cloak. Alternatively, if you’re like me, you might have trudged through both Sinners Road and Bilewater to get to the Citadel of Song.
### Navigating to Shakra
Start by heading east (to the right) until you reach a chamber that leads upward. Be cautious of the tripwires here—they summon swinging spiked balls—and watch out for the enemies that throw exploding darts.
Once you reach the top of the more vertical chamber, begin heading west (to the left). Continue until you find a larger chamber that ascends higher. You’ll know you’re in the right spot if you have to jump over the maggot-infested waters by landing on three unstable platforms.
Jump up, then carefully navigate over spikes, and divekick the floating green orbs to propel yourself high enough to cling onto the far wall. From there, jump back over to the left, then up and to the right, following Shakra’s rings as you proceed.
Keep moving right until you come across Shakra, who is in a makeshift camp, lamenting the state of the swamp.
### Purchasing the Map
You can buy the Bilewater map from Shakra for 90 rosaries. If you don’t have enough rosaries when you find her, you can also purchase the map from Bellhart for the same price.
Once you have the map, you’ll immediately notice that Bilewater extends much further vertically. However, making it all the way up through this swampy, fetid environment is its own grueling challenge—one that you may find quite difficult.
