The New Jersey school board, whose vice president is embroiled in a vile group texting scandal allegedly targeting a MAGA-supporting mom and fellow board member, has postponed its next meeting over “safety” concerns.
Marlboro Board of Education President Brian Cohen moved to delay the group’s upcoming meeting, which had been scheduled for November 11, citing unspecified “safety and security” issues. However, other members of the school board have objected to the postponement, The Post has learned.
Meanwhile, parents are planning a peaceful protest and have been organizing their efforts on social media. This decision to delay the meeting comes just over a week after the board’s previous session, which turned into a raucous, six-hour affair. During that meeting, numerous parents demanded the resignation of two members, including Vice President Chad Hyett, for their alleged involvement in a hateful group chat targeting fellow board member Danielle Bellomo.
The controversial group chat, labeled “ThisBitchNeedstoDie,” featured misogynistic messages about Bellomo from board candidate Scott Semaya. Semaya quickly dropped out of the race after the messages became public. One particularly offensive text, allegedly captured in a photo of Semaya’s screen as he typed, read: “Bellomo must be cold her nips could cut glass right n.”
In addition to Semaya, Mitesh Gandhi—the husband of sitting board member Aditi Gandhi—also allegedly participated in the chat.
The offensive messages drew nationwide attention after being exposed by The Post, even prompting outrage from Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who called the behavior “wrong” and “evil” in a post on X.
Some parents have voiced their suspicions on Facebook, suggesting the meeting’s cancellation was due to the board president, vice president, and district superintendent being “ashamed of something” or “afraid of legitimate community concerns.” “This is getting worse and worse,” one parent lamented.
Marlboro Police confirmed on Friday that they are still investigating the alleged threats against Bellomo.
