Jey Uso Among WWE’s Most Popular Faces, Adapts In-Ring Style for Greater Success

Jey Uso is undoubtedly one of the most popular babyfaces on the WWE roster. Despite his widespread fan support, he has faced criticism from some fans regarding his in-ring performance. The former World Heavyweight Champion recently spoke out about being tired of such remarks.

At 40 years old, Jey Uso has undergone a subtle but significant change in his character. Influenced by Roman Reigns’ advice to unlock his full potential, Uso is striving to become a more serious and aggressive in-ring competitor focused on achieving results. Demonstrating this new mindset, he even eliminated his twin brother from a battle royal to earn a shot at the vacated World Heavyweight Championship.

During his appearance on the latest edition of RAW Recap, Jey was asked about the recent changes to his approach. Known affectionately as the “YEET Master,” Uso insisted that he hadn’t changed much in personality. He emphasized that he still enjoys having fun with the fans but acknowledged that reaching the top requires switching gears once the bell rings.

“I mean, nothing really changed on me, Uce. You know, I still have fun. I still throw a party every Monday. I still like the kids, man. I still YEET with them. It’s just, man, when the bell rings, I just got to switch modes now, man. If I’m trying to get to the top, get back to the top, I got big hitters in front of me. I got guys like, man, CM Punk, you know, the guy like Gunther, guys like, you know, Seth Rollins, Gunther — I got a heavy list in front of me and I got to — I just can’t play,” Uso said.

Jey also admitted that he has reverted to the old “Bloodline ways,” a mindset that has proven successful for him. “I just can’t play no more, man. I’m tired of people saying I’m just an entrance or whatever. Like, I don’t got skills to hold it down up top, man. So I just switched modes. It might be going back to the old ways thinking, you know, Bloodline ways, but man, that kind of mentality got the job done,” he added. [H/T: Fightful]
