Over a dozen Republican House members have expressed concern regarding the Trump administration’s plan to increase imports of Argentine beef.
In a letter addressed to Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, the lawmakers urged caution and careful consideration of the policy changes.
“We encourage the Administration to ensure that any adjustments to Argentina’s tariff-rate quota or inspection regime be contingent on verified equivalency and reciprocal market access,” the letter stated.
The representatives emphasized the importance of maintaining fair trade practices while protecting domestic agricultural interests.
