Detroit police are currently investigating an incident in which an officer appeared during a court hearing on Zoom wearing no pants.

In the video clip, the officer, who identified himself as Matthew Jackson, joined a Zoom hearing on October 27 in the 36th District Court. Officer Jackson was seen wearing his Detroit Police Department uniform shirt but notably did not have any pants on.

During the exchange, Judge Perkins asked, “You got some pants on, officer?” to which Officer Jackson responded, “Sir, they’re in the no, sir.” The judge replied, “Um, Officer Jackson, um, okay.”

The incident has drawn attention, raising questions about professionalism and conduct during virtual court proceedings.

Detroit Police Department officials have confirmed they are looking into the matter.
