Getting weapons in Warframe to the point where they can deal the required damage to matter in tougher content often takes a significant amount of time and investment. From Catalysts to Forma and Adapters, you might find yourself putting a lot of your hard-earned resources into a weapon — and nobody wants to do that with the wrong choice. So, is the Glaxion Vandal worth it in Warframe?

### Glaxion Vandal: How Does It Compare?

The Glaxion Vandal is indeed better than the standard Glaxion, but it doesn’t quite match up to the Tenet Glaxion, which is widely considered the best in its class. That said, if you’re new to the game and looking for a weapon that can perform decently into the early Steel Path content, the Glaxion Vandal can get the job done — but this will require substantial investment.

The key issue is that the Tenet Glaxion is likely far more worthy of the resources and time you put in. Holding out until you can get one from a Sister of Parvos is often the smarter move.

### Advantages Over the Standard Glaxion

The Glaxion Vandal’s main advantages compared to its standard counterpart include:

– Higher base damage
– Increased critical chance
– Improved status chance
– Larger magazine size
– Faster reload speed
– Greater ammo reserves

These upgrades make the Vandal a clear winner over the regular Glaxion. If you’re a fan of the Glaxion, this is unquestionably an upgrade in almost every way.

### Additional Modding Options

One notable feature of the Glaxion Vandal is its compatibility with the Photon Overcharge mod, which can be purchased from Nora’s Nightwave shop for Cred Offerings when available in the prize rotation. This mod grants increased critical damage and also provides a 2% chance to drop an energy orb per Cold status affecting kills or assists, boosting your energy sustain.

### Build Suggestions

Above, you’ll find my preferred Tenet Glaxion build, but it works well on the Vandal too. This setup is designed to run alongside Frost, where his fourth ability handles armor stripping, allowing you to tear through enemies with beam attacks and gas procs.

If you don’t have a reliable source of armor stripping, you can swap Thermite Rounds for High Voltage or another Electric mod, shifting the damage type from Gas to Corrosive. For extra damage, consider subsuming Nourish on your Warframe to apply Viral status easily, increasing your overall damage output.

In summary, while the Glaxion Vandal is a solid improvement over the base Glaxion and can be effective with investment, the Tenet Glaxion remains the superior choice if you want the best performance from this weapon platform. If you can be patient and focus your resources on obtaining the Tenet version, it’s likely to serve you better, especially in the late-game content.
