Where to get food help in Southern California as SNAP benefits end

As millions across California brace for possible impacts as SNAP benefits end, local food banks and organizations are preparing to meet the urgent demand for meals. The need for food assistance is not uncommon in California, where one in every seven people struggles with accessing enough food on a daily basis.

## Los Angeles

**Los Angeles Regional Food Bank**
If you need food assistance, visit [LAFoodBank.org](https://www.lafoodbank.org) to find a food distribution event or a partner agency near you.

**CalFresh Benefits – LA County**
Despite the government shutdown, people who have lost their jobs can still apply for CalFresh benefits as applications are still being processed. If you are approved for November benefits, issuance will be delayed.

**WIC Benefits – LA County**
Women who are pregnant or have children under age 5 can still enroll for and receive WIC services during the government shutdown. Additionally, federal employees who are pregnant or with young children may be eligible for WIC assistance during the shutdown.

## Inland Empire (Riverside/San Bernardino Counties)

**Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino**

CEO Carolyn Solar stated that an additional 900 food boxes are being added to mobile food distribution sites each month during the shutdown. Some partner agencies have also been temporarily paired with Inland Empire grocery stores to ensure food is reaching those who need it most.

Women who are pregnant or have children under age 5 can still enroll for and receive WIC services during the government shutdown. Federal employees who are pregnant or with young children may also be eligible for WIC assistance during this time.

## Orange County

Dial **2-1-1** in Orange County to find food pantries, baby food and formula, after-school meal programs, pet food, and other assistance.
