Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. paid tribute to a Canadian sports hero ahead of Game 7 of the World Series on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Guerrero was spotted walking into the Rogers Centre wearing the jersey of Canadian women’s hockey star Marie-Philip Poulin.

The slugging first baseman appeared focused and determined as he entered the stadium, preparing for the biggest game of his career.

Poulin is a decorated athlete with an impressive resume, boasting four Olympic gold medals. She played a pivotal role in Team Canada’s victories in 2010, 2014, and 2022, and earned a silver medal in 2018. Additionally, she has won four gold medals in the World Championships.

Currently, Poulin competes in the Professional Women’s Hockey League for the Montreal Victoire. She responded to Guerrero’s tribute on her Instagram Stories, writing, “Wow,” accompanied by a tearful emoji, and adding, “Let’s go Blue Jays!”
