How to Get a Custom Weapon Loadout in Battlefield 6: REDSEC

Battlefield 6: REDSEC combines elements from many popular battle royale games, and one of its unique features is the limited ability to build into a custom loadout. Knowing how to obtain your custom-built weapons and class-specific abilities during a match is key to securing victory. Here’s how you can do it.

Custom Weapon Loadouts: What You Need to Know

Unlike games such as Warzone, you can’t enter a match with a full pre-made custom loadout in Battlefield 6: REDSEC. However, you can equip two custom-built weapons that offer more and better attachments than what you’d typically find by looting.

To get your custom weapon loadout, you have two main options:

  • Find and loot a custom weapon drop during a match
  • Call in a custom weapon drop by completing a mission that rewards it (the preferred method)

Finding Custom Weapon Drops

Custom weapon drops appear periodically around the map. You’ll recognize them by the rocket-pod symbols displayed on your minimap and HUD. The catch? These drops are highly contested. Since everyone knows when and where they appear, they quickly become hotspots for intense firefights as teams rush to claim the rewards.

Calling in Your Custom Weapon Drop

A better strategy is to complete a mission that allows you to call in a custom weapon drop for you and your squad. This way, you get to keep the weapons without contest. These missions aren’t necessarily harder to complete, though they do tend to favor PvP risk-based objectives.

After calling in your custom weapon drop, you’ll be able to choose from a selection of custom weapon builds you’ve created and favorited in your loadouts outside of a match. To favorite a weapon build, simply open the skin select or customize screen, then press X on the keyboard or Square (PS5) / X (Xbox) controller.

Building a Full Loadout

Grabbing your custom weapon is just one part of building a strong loadout. You’ll still need to scavenge the map for important gear such as RPGs, Defibrillator kits, and other useful items. Including an airstrike ability in your arsenal is also highly recommended for maximum impact.

A solid mid-to-late game loadout might include:

  • One or two custom weapons
  • RPG or AA launcher
  • Defibrillator
  • Smoke or frag grenades
  • Mortar or strafing run offensive Strike Package

Even a group of random teammates with little coordination can secure an unlikely win if they’re equipped with these loadouts. The odds may be against you, but intelligent use of airstrikes during the closing phases of the circle, combined with Defibrillator revives to keep your squad fighting, can turn the tide in your favor.
