The Nintendo Switch 2 has been exceedingly popular, and Nintendo is confident this trend will continue.
On November 4, 2025, Nintendo released its Q2 FY26 earnings report, in which the company updated its hardware sales forecast for the Switch 2. Nintendo now projects it will sell 19 million units of the Switch 2 in its 2026 fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.
It’s important to note that this fiscal year projection does not cover a full 12 months, as the Nintendo Switch 2 was released on June 5, 2025. Previously, Nintendo had set expectations at 15 million units sold for the Switch 2. This latest forecast reflects a significant increase of 4 million units compared to the May 2025 estimates.
In addition to raising its sales forecast, Nintendo is ramping up production of the Switch 2, aiming to manufacture 25 million units by March 2026.
This optimistic outlook highlights Nintendo’s confidence in the ongoing success of the Switch 2 as it gains traction in the gaming market.
