HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Felipe Patino scored 18 points as Southern Miss defeated Tougaloo 93-57 on Thursday. Patino was impressive from beyond the arc, finishing 6 of 10 from 3-point range for the Golden Eagles (1-1).
Isaac Tavares added 16 points, shooting 6 for 14 overall, including 0 for 3 from three-point range. He was perfect from the free-throw line, making all 4 attempts, and also contributed 10 rebounds.
Israel Hart contributed 11 points, shooting 3 for 8 from the floor with 3 of 5 coming from beyond the arc.
For Tougaloo, Antonio Patterson led the Bulldogs in scoring with 21 points and added two blocks. Willie Anderson also made a strong effort, contributing 14 points and seven rebounds.
