**90 Day Fiancé Star Stephanie Matto Announces Surrogacy Journey in Mexico**
Stephanie Matto, best known from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days and The Single Life, has just revealed major life news—she’s planning to have a baby via surrogacy in Mexico. The 35-year-old reality star, notorious for her playful social media antics, assured followers in her recent TikTok video that this announcement is serious.
“I’m buying a baby in Mexico, and no, this is not rage bait,” Stephanie begins in her candid video (full video at the bottom of this post). The reason for her decision? Stephanie suffers from aplastic anemia, making pregnancy highly risky and unsafe for her.
> “And that is a risk that I’m not willing to take,” she explains.
Stephanie shared that turning 35 this past year gave her a new perspective:
> “It really dawned on me that I do want to have a child one day.”
After a year of saving and research, Stephanie realized surrogacy in the United States wasn’t financially feasible for her. That’s when she began exploring international surrogacy options and discovered opportunities in Mexico.
She has already met with medical professionals and the agency coordinating her surrogacy plan. Stephanie says she will need to travel to Mexico several times over the next year, with her first trip likely in February or March for egg retrieval and implantation.
> “At this point in my life, I do feel like I am financially and emotionally prepared to welcome a child into my life and step into the next stage of my life.”
Stephanie acknowledges that not everyone will agree with her decision, especially in light of the ethical debates around international surrogacy. However, she assures her followers that she’s “working with a really great agency that is very ethical and definitely takes good care of all of the surrogate mothers.”
### Stephanie Matto’s Previous Surrogacy Experience
In her announcement, Stephanie also shared details about her past involvement with surrogacy—this time as an egg donor.
> “The entire irony in all of this is that before I ever got sick with aplastic anemia, I was actually an egg donor in my early 20s. I donated my eggs to several couples who could not conceive.”
She explains that her egg donations helped pay for her education and her car, though she admits this is her first time talking about the experience online:
> “It feels very nerve-racking because I don’t know what the response is going to be. But I’m very excited for this journey and possibly taking you guys along with me and showing you what it’s like.”
**Congratulations to Stephanie!** We wish her the best on her surrogacy journey and look forward to following her updates.
