A vehicle slammed into a tree before crashing into a Saugus home overnight, leaving at least one teenager hospitalized.
At 10:57 p.m. on Friday, a vehicle crashed into a tree, which caused it to collide with the front of a home on the 28000 block of Evergreen Lane in Saugus, according to Engineer Jonathan Torres, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“One vehicle was in the lawn. There was moderate structure damage to the house,” Torres stated while describing the crash scene. Due to the severity of the collision, Building and Safety was called to assess the damage to the home.
Footage of the crash scene shows the vehicle’s bumper sitting in the front yard, with the car lodged in the front entrance of the home.
A teenage occupant was treated by Los Angeles County Fire paramedics on the scene before being transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The extent of the teenager’s injuries was unavailable as of Saturday.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LACSD) Santa Clarita Valley Station are investigating the cause of the crash. No additional injuries have been reported.
