**Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC Impressions – A Fitting Finale**

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is one of those odd games that feels like it’s been around forever. In reality—and somewhat shockingly—Warhorse Studios’ Bohemia-based role-playing game was released only in February of this year. Our own Sam Chandler gave the game a glowing review, and since then, it has been followed up by two excellent DLCs of differing scale and scope.

*Brushes with Death* focused on a heartfelt story quest, while *Legacy of the Forge* introduced a new home and business for Henry, allowing him to follow in his father’s footsteps as a blacksmith. It’s been an excellent run, with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 deserving mention alongside this year’s other big hitters in Game of the Year discussions.

But does the latest—and final—DLC, *Mysteria Ecclesiae*, keep the quality flowing? Hopes are high that it will be the cherry on top of a rather wonderful cake.

## A Dangerous New Mystery

In *Mysteria Ecclesiae*, Henry finds himself drawn into a mystery as perilous as anything he’s faced so far. Tasked with accompanying King Wenceslaus’ physician, Albich, to a monastery to offer assistance, they quickly discover that the monastery has been struck by a mysterious illness. Everyone is instantly worried that they might be dealing with an outbreak of plague.

As Albich and others begin tending to the afflicted, Henry is charged with exploring the monastery, delving into the lives of its denizens, and unearthing the secrets and sins nobody wants him to know.

## A Fresh Setting with Tighter Focus

The DLC is set on a brand-new map dedicated entirely to Sedletz Monastery. Once you begin the adventure, you’ll remain there until its conclusion—no diving in and out of the main map until you unravel the mystery.

Upon arrival, things are immediately different. Your armor and weapons are confiscated, primarily because King Sigismund of Luxembourg is currently residing in the monastery, and almost every resource you’ve come to rely on is suddenly out of reach.

## An Authentic and Immersive Monastery

The monastery itself is beautifully designed and, as you’d expect from the series, feels genuine and authentic. Dominated by a massive chapel, the environment includes living quarters for monks to sleep, eat, and pray, along with grounds for growing food and vast cellars running underneath. They’re filled with little nooks and crannies for you to explore.

Most importantly, the monastery introduces a new cast of intriguing characters. You’ll be talking to many of them as you work to uncover the truth, making all manner of new friends—and perhaps a few enemies—along the way. Figuring out whom you can trust becomes a crucial part of the experience.

## Deep Conversations and Meaningful Choices

As you’ve likely come to expect from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, conversations are deep, heartfelt, and sometimes unexpectedly funny. Henry once again takes center stage. You have plenty of opportunities to build upon his character, explore various conversation routes, and, most importantly, play as a deeply caring and thoughtful human being.

Quests and side quests touch on the everyday lives of the monastery’s residents, allowing you to express care or concern for them—often in ways that are sorely needed within their rigid social structure. Earning people’s trust is rewarding, but playing through the story in a way that makes you worthy of that trust is even better.

## New Rewards and Lasting Impact

There are plenty of new items to find, including a new sword, armor pieces, and a special mask. You can brew new alchemical potions and discover skill books hidden throughout the monastery. These rewards carry over into the main game, adding a tangible incentive for players to explore every corner.

## A Fitting Final Chapter

*Mysteria Ecclesiae* serves as a fitting final installment in Henry’s journey. It’s packed with meaningful choices, plenty of intrigue, and a rich dose of mystery. The DLC can be played at any time during your Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 playthrough and stands as further proof that Henry is one of gaming’s best protagonists—a man who, despite humble beginnings, never stops hoping for the best for others.

The only downside to *Mysteria Ecclesiae*? It marks the end of the line for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Now, all we can do is wait and hope for a third installment packed with the same level of fun, intrigue, and heart that Warhorse Studios has delivered here.
