Prince William is sharing a relatable parenting concern regarding his children and the use of cell phones.
The Prince of Wales revealed that he and his wife, Kate Middleton, have had numerous conversations with their children—Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7—about getting cell phones. He admitted that it has become a sticking point, particularly with their eldest son.
“Our children don’t have phones,” Prince William told Brazilian TV host Luciano Huck during a November 10 interview in support of the Earthshot Prize. “I think when George moves on to secondary school, then maybe he will have a phone then that has no internet access.”
While William and Kate have remained firm on their decision, their tween son is beginning to feel a little frustrated.
“To be honest, it’s getting to the point where it’s becoming a little bit of a tense issue,” the 43-year-old explained. “But I think he understands why. We communicate why we don’t think it’s right.”
