With a career spanning more than 25 years in WWE, professional wrestling legend John Cena has made a significant impact on millions of people worldwide, including both fans and colleagues. He will officially call it a career this December, with his final match scheduled for “Saturday Night’s Main Event” (SNME). However, many fans hope this won’t be the last time he steps into the ring.

At this time, it remains unknown who Cena will face in his final match at SNME. Two individuals have already advanced in the 16-man tournament designed to determine his opponent. Sheamus and Rusev secured victories on Raw, moving on to the next round. Additionally, two more matches will take place on Friday’s SmackDown, alongside other bouts on Raw.

Last Friday’s episode of SmackDown featured R-Truth, real name Ron Killings, humorously ensuring that general manager Nick Aldis had “his balls in the hopper” so he could potentially enter Cena’s tournament. Ahead of his potential participation, Truth recently shared candid thoughts on Cena’s impact in WWE and his upcoming retirement.

“This is history-making. He’s a grand slam champion. Bro, he’s all of that. You wanna talk about real being real, man, I been around John for years. You can count the years I been in WWE just being around him, I’ve learned so much from him,” Truth said during an appearance on the “Busted Open Podcast.”

Truth emphasized that anyone who gets the chance to be around Cena and learn from him is learning from “the G.O.A.T.” He also described Cena as “very humble,” highlighting that he can reach out to the WWE legend for advice almost anytime he needs it.

“He’s still humble. He’s still down to earth. I’m very happy for him. I’m very happy he’s able to walk away on his own terms and pursue those other irons that he have in the fire,” Truth added, most likely referring to Cena’s acting career and other endeavors outside the ring.

Thomas Pestock, best known as Baron Corbin in WWE, echoed Truth’s sentiments, calling Cena “humble and very giving” regardless of who seeks his advice. Corbin shared that Cena often encouraged him to step back from his character and question the “why” behind what his character was saying or doing.

“He’s a resource, a tool. He’s right there at your beck and call if you need him,” Truth added.

While R-Truth has entered his name into the tournament as a possible final opponent for Cena, he was also among the few to face Cena this year during the WWE legend’s retirement tour. The two wrestled at May’s “Saturday Night’s Main Event” when Cena was still in his heel phase, following an attack on Cody and winning the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Cena won that match, which seemingly led to R-Truth’s release from the company. However, after fans voiced their displeasure with the release, Truth was reinstated within a week.

As of now, R-Truth remains employed with WWE and will likely be among those celebrating Cena as he steps away from his wrestling career next month.
