With its Sober Sorrow ability boosting your combo meter and its Sweep All skill growing stronger with each active buff, this spear becomes a true powerhouse once you get it going.
Ways to Unlock the Heavenquaker Spear in Where Winds Meet
Unlike the Inkwell Fan, there are two main ways to unlock the Heavenquaker Spear:
- Steal the art from the Master in the Heavenquaker Spear Sanctum
- Join the Raging Tides Sect and complete their requirements
The Sanctum method is more hands-on and stealth-focused, while the latter method ties into your progression and allegiance within the game.
Prerequisites to Get the Heavenquaker Spear
If you choose the Sanctum route, you’ll need the following:
- Touch of Death Mystic Arts: Required to silently eliminate specific guards. You unlock this by completing The Realm Endures side story.
- A Dragon Key: This key is consumed upon entering the hidden passage inside the Sanctum.
Once you have these prepared, you’re ready to infiltrate the Sanctum.
Step-by-Step Guide: Unlocking Heavenquaker Spear Through the Sanctum
- Travel to the Heavenquaker Spear Sanctum. Head to the northeast side of the map. If you’ve already explored the region, you can teleport to nearby landmarks to reach the Sanctum more quickly.
- Activate the Loong Herm Dragon Pillar. Interact with the pillar at the entrance of the Sanctum. This consumes your Dragon Key and reveals a hidden passage leading into a cave system.
- Enter the cave and eliminate the first Militiaman. Descend toward the first chamber, where you’ll spot two Militiamen and a chest on the right. Ignore the chest for now, go left, drop down to the lower ledge, and silently assassinate the nearby Militiaman.
- Clear the next two guards. Ahead you’ll find two Militiamen—one patrolling and one stationary. Wait for the patrolling guard to move right, take him down quietly, then eliminate the stationary guard.
- Head down the stairs to get your first chest. At the lowest floor, you’ll encounter a locked door (access it later). Open the door in front of the ramp and collect Chest #1.
- Climb the ladder and grab Chest #2. Exit the room and go to the ladder across the area. Wait for the patrolling guards to be out of sight and assassinate them silently. Chest #2 is hidden in a small alcove on the right past some crates.
- Reach the upper floors for Chest #3. Climb the ladder to the next level, eliminate the lone Militiaman behind crates, then proceed upward to collect Chest #3, which you spotted when you first entered.
- Grab Chest #4 near the statue. Turn around after picking Chest #3 and head toward a distant chest located near a statue. Claim Chest #4.
- Open the locked gate. Return behind the third chest, eliminate the two guards, and interact with the lever to unlock a previously sealed gate on the lower floor.
- Return to the now-open room for Chest #5. Head back down to the locked door, wait until Militiamen turn away, enter immediately, turn left, and access Chest #5.
- Descend further to find Chest #6. After collecting Chest #5 and eliminating two nearby guards, look through the lower level for a patrolling Militiaman. Assassin him to safely descend and collect Chest #6 along the left wall.
- Clear the return path. To climb back up, pass through a room with stationary and roaming Militiamen. Assassinate the two roaming guards first, jump over crates near the right guard and take him out, then handle the Militiaman watching the stairs.
- Step on the blue circle for Skill Theft. Continue ascending until you find a glowing blue circle on the upper platform. Step on it and perform a Skill Theft on the Master, granting you the Heavenquaker Spear martial art.
How to Unlock Heavenquaker Spear by Joining the Raging Tides Sect
The alternative route to obtain the Heavenquaker Spear skips the infiltration entirely. Instead, you can join the Raging Tides Sect. Their internal progression path eventually rewards you with access to the Heavenquaker Spear Martial Art.
To do this, you’ll need to:
- Join the Sect.
- Complete their tasks and requirements.
This method is simpler but takes longer if you aren’t already aligned with the Raging Tides Sect.
