VANDALIA, Ill. (WLS) — A 43-year-old downstate Illinois man has been charged with murder and sexual assault in the death of a14-year-old girl, Illinois State Police said Monday. Police found the body of Kylie M. Toberman of Vandalia Friday in a home in the 1100-block of West Gallatin Street, officials said. ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch Vandalia is about 70 miles northeast of St. Louis. Arnold B. Rivera, also of Vandalia, was identified as a suspect and taken into custody. State police said they are aware of a post on social media concerning the death, and it is part of the investigation. Rivera is being held pending trial. In addition to the Vandalia Police Department, ISP was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, Fayette County Coroner’s Office, McLean County Coroner’s Office, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and the St. Elmo Police Department.
