Authorities have arrested a man on charges of robbing a marijuana dispensary in Gloucester County earlier this month. Police responded to the Nova Farms cannabis dispensary in the 600 block of Mantua Avenue in Woodbury on Nov. 3 for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. He entered the business with a weapon, described by police as a crowbar, and stole the cash drawer, police said. The business was open at the time and he confronted employees, according to police. No serious injuries were reported. The robber left the store through the same window and ran from the area, police said. Photos shared by police on Facebook showed the masked man wielding the crowbar outside of the business. Another photo showed him falling out of the drive-thru window to the ground as he departed. Following an investigation, police executed a search warrant this week at a South Childs Street address in Woodbury and arrested 25-year-old Theodore D. Sparks. Employees told police that Sparks previously worked at the dispensary, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in support of his charges. They also said he previously brought the wolf mask to work. Gloves and a backpack matching those worn by the robber were found in Sparks’ vehicle, police said. During an interview with police, Sparks admitted to the robbery, according to the affidavit. He also said he went to an Atlantic City casino after the robbery, where he spent the stolen money, police said. The Woodbury resident was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, third-degree theft, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree possession of an imitation firearm, simple assault and possession of burglary tools. The fake firearm was located in the defendant’s book bag, police said. Sparks was jailed pending a detention hearing. His attorney could not be reached for comment on Friday. In announcing the arrest, Woodbury Police also noted that its Watch Over Woodbury camera system consists of more than 50 cameras at homes and businesses in the community.
