**Mark Sanchez Allegedly Attacked 69-Year-Old Man in Indianapolis: Victim Speaks Out**
*Published: October 6, 2025, 3:01 p.m. ET*
The 69-year-old man allegedly attacked by former NFL quarterback and Fox NFL host Mark Sanchez has shared new details about their confrontation, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
According to court documents obtained by the media outlet, the man told police that during their dispute in an alley between the Westin Hotel and the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, around 12:30 a.m. on October 4, he thought, “this guy is trying to kill me.”
### Incident Details
Minutes after the altercation, police were called to Loughmiller’s Pub and Eatery, where they found Sanchez with multiple stab wounds on his upper torso and the 69-year-old delivery driver bleeding from cuts on his face.
When Sanchez approached the man, he appeared intoxicated and smelled of alcohol, according to the probable cause affidavit. The affidavit states that Sanchez told the man he had spoken to hotel management and that the delivery truck wasn’t supposed to be parked there.
When the worker called his supervisor, Sanchez allegedly blocked him and refused to leave. Security footage showed Sanchez jogging into the alley, speaking with the man, and then climbing onto the driver’s side of the truck. The two men circled the vehicle before the confrontation turned physical.
### Victim’s Account and Self-Defense Claim
The 69-year-old man claimed he used pepper spray to defend himself, but said Sanchez “kept coming at him.” This led the man to pull out a knife and stab Sanchez multiple times in self-defense.
Investigators noted that video footage obtained from a nearby hotel “closely matches” the victim’s account. Additionally, a witness sitting in a nearby car reported seeing the two men “recording each other” on their phones before the fight began. The witness later saw one man fall to the curb while the other ran through the alley.
Police recovered a knife from the driver’s side of the truck and obtained search warrants for Sanchez’s clothing and cellphone.
### Charges and Arrest
On October 5, Sanchez was charged with battery resulting in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. He was hospitalized due to his stab wounds and was arrested while receiving treatment. Sanchez has since been released on a $300 cash bond.
On October 6, one of the charges against Sanchez was upgraded to a Level 5 felony, which carries a sentence of up to five years in prison. His next court hearing is scheduled for October 7 at 8:30 a.m.
### Fox NFL Kickoff Responds
Sanchez was scheduled to host *Fox NFL Kickoff* on October 5. During the broadcast, host Charissa Thompson addressed the incident, saying, “Friday night in Indianapolis, one of our team members, Mark Sanchez, was involved in an incident that we are still trying to wrap our heads around.”
“At this time, our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and all of those involved,” Thompson added.
Chris Myers, who filled in for Sanchez, also sent well-wishes: “And obviously we all want to send out our thoughts and prayers to Mark and those involved in Friday’s incident, as we get ready for today’s game.”
