MANILA, Philippines — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has once again reduced its key policy rate by 0.25 percentage points. The rate is now set at 4.75 percent.
This decision by the BSP came as a surprise to many, as it was contrary to expectations. Notably, inflation in the Philippines has remained below the BSP’s target range of 2 percent to 4 percent.
