**Mumbai: Sheena Bora’s Close Friend Reveals Mikhail Bora’s Plea to Rescue Sheena from Rehabilitation Centre**

Sanjana Phukan, a close friend of Sheena Bora, testified in court on Friday that Mikhail Bora, Sheena’s brother, contacted her multiple times between 2013 and 2015 seeking help to rescue Sheena from a rehabilitation centre. According to Phukan, Sheena was allegedly held captive there on the instructions of Indrani Mukerjea.

### Prosecution’s Case

As per the prosecution, Indrani Mukerjea, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and driver Shyamwar Rai strangled Sheena in a car on April 24, 2012. It is alleged that the body was then placed in a bag, kept overnight in a garage, and later set on fire the following day in Pen village.

The special CBI court concluded recording Phukan’s testimony on Friday, during which she was cross-examined by Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer, Ranjeet Sangle.

### Mikhail’s Plea for Help

Phukan revealed that sometime between 2013 and 2015, while she was in Meerut, Mikhail made a conference call involving her and another friend, Pranami. During the call, Mikhail expressed distress and asked them to help rescue Sheena, who he claimed was being held against her will in a Pune-based rehabilitation centre under Indrani’s orders.

Following the call, Phukan said she consulted her husband’s cousin, a psychologist, for advice. However, both she and Pranami eventually decided not to take further action as they doubted Mikhail’s claims and believed he might not be truthful.

### Rahul’s Attempts to File Missing Person Complaint

Phukan also disclosed that Rahul, another individual linked to the case, reached out to her after Sheena’s alleged disappearance. She and others advised him to file a missing person complaint. Despite this, no formal complaint was lodged, and Rahul was reportedly told to remain calm, as Sheena was believed to be with her mother.

Phukan added that when Rahul sought her help, her cousin, a lawyer practicing in the Supreme Court, offered legal assistance. They recommended filing a habeas corpus petition to secure Sheena’s release. However, Phukan said Rahul did not pursue these legal avenues any further.

### Insights into Sheena Bora’s Life

During her testimony, Phukan shed light on several aspects of Sheena’s life. She recalled that in November 2011, when Sheena attended Phukan’s wedding in Guwahati, she stayed at their friend Pranami’s house instead of her own family home.

Phukan further explained that Sheena initially stayed at her house for a few days but later moved to Pranami’s home due to disputes within her own family. The conflicts, she said, were between Sheena and her maternal grandparents (nana and nani) and her brother Mikhail.

Phukan also noted that at the time, Mikhail’s girlfriend was residing in the Bora family home alongside Sheena’s relatives, which may have contributed to the tensions.

*This testimony adds new dimensions to the ongoing investigation into Sheena Bora’s disappearance and alleged murder, as the court continues to hear from key witnesses.*
