There is no wrong way to celebrate Halloween. Some people enjoy truly frightening experiences, like walking through a dark haunted house filled with monsters and zombies at every turn. Others prefer a lighter, more playful approach—dressing up as Marvel superheroes and going trick-or-treating on a trolley. And some want just a little scare, having fun gawking at 12-foot-high skeletons dressed as ballerinas while forgetting the real world for a while.
Halloween has evolved over the years from a single day to a whole season of spooky fun—and an attitude, really. That’s why it’s easy to find ways to celebrate that suit just about everyone. Here’s a list of 13 Halloween happenings around Maine this month to illustrate that point. Halloween is on October 31.
