**Iconic Hamptons Estate Owned by Late Music Mogul Seymour Stein Hits Market for $15 Million**

Red Top Farm, a historic Hamptons estate once owned by the late music mogul Seymour Stein—the Brooklyn-born co-founder of Sire Records and the visionary who signed Madonna—has officially hit the market for $15 million, Gimme Shelter has learned.

Stein played a pivotal role in shaping modern music and culture, helping to create the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and bringing genres like punk and New Wave into the spotlight. His impressive roster of signees included legendary bands such as the Ramones, the Talking Heads, and the Pretenders, among many others. Stein passed away in 2023 at the age of 80 after a battle with cancer.

The historic two-and-a-half-story red clapboard farmhouse is located at 348 Wickapogue Road, near Southampton Village. Built around 1895 as part of a working farm, the house underwent extensive renovations in 1997 by Southampton architect John David Rose. The estate sits on 2.9 acres of beautifully landscaped land.

“This home carries the pedigree of Seymour Stein, a visionary whose legacy shaped modern music and culture,” said listing broker Michael Schultz of Bespoke Real Estate.

Stein’s ex-wife, the late punk pioneer Linda Stein, was a legendary figure in her own right. She managed the Ramones before becoming one of New York City’s top real estate power brokers, representing high-profile clients such as Madonna, Sting, Billy Joel, Steven Spielberg, Angelina Jolie, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and Michael Douglas. Tragically, Linda was murdered in her home at 965 Fifth Avenue in 2007 by her assistant.

The main house on the Red Top Farm estate boasts 10 bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and two powder rooms. Spanning 8,720 square feet, the residence features an eat-in chef’s kitchen, multiple wood-burning fireplaces located in the living room, dining room, and bedrooms, as well as space for a home office.

Design highlights include vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, custom millwork, French doors, and elegant pendant lighting throughout. Outside, the estate is enclosed by a charming picket fence and privet hedges.

In addition to the main house, the property includes a 1,456-square-foot guest house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a detached garage that houses a 1,306-square-foot three-bedroom apartment.

The expansive landscaped lawns are dotted with specimen trees and include luxury amenities such as a swimming pool, paddock, and various equestrian facilities, according to the listing.

Red Top Farm offers a unique opportunity to own a piece of Hamptons history, blending classic architecture with extraordinary cultural significance—the perfect retreat for those who appreciate both luxury living and musical legacy.
