A gas leakage has been reported near Narayangaon bypass on the Pune-Nashik Highway. The incident occurred on Saturday morning, around 10 am, when gas suddenly started leaking from a tanker.
After noticing the leakage, the driver promptly parked the tanker on the side of the road. The police rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident.
Initially, only a small amount of gas was leaking, but the quantity gradually increased, causing concern among commuters and residents of nearby villages. The gas spread through the air, creating a foul smell and an atmosphere of fear in the area.
Traffic on the highway has been affected to some extent as authorities work to control the leakage. However, since there are no safety measures currently in place to handle the situation, passengers and local citizens remain anxious.
The exact cause of the leakage is yet to be determined. Notably, the incident took place during heavy traffic on this busy highway connecting Pune and Nashik, raising renewed questions about the safety of vehicles transporting CNG gas.
