Assamese singer-actor Zubeen Garg, who passed away recently in Singapore, had once openly expressed his decision to move away from Bollywood due to the “attitude” prevalent in the industry. In an interview with POP Pavelopedia earlier this year, Garg mentioned that he preferred working from Assam rather than dealing with Mumbai’s chaotic environment. He candidly stated, “Mumbai has more attitude, and to get rid of that, I asked them to come here.”

**Career Shift: Why He Stopped Working in Bollywood**

Zubeen Garg rose to national fame with the hit song “Ya Ali” from the 2006 film *Gangster*. During the early years of his career, he worked extensively in Mumbai and lent his voice to popular tracks such as “Dilruba” from *Namastey London* and “Dil Tu Hi Bata” from *Krrish 3*. However, he soon chose to return to Assam, limiting his involvement in Bollywood projects.

Reflecting on his choice, Garg once said, “I will die here [in Assam] like a king. I still have a home in Mumbai, but I don’t like the chaos.”

**Personal Struggles: The ULFA Threat**

Zubeen Garg’s journey was not without challenges. He spoke openly about receiving threats from the militant group United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA).
