Amazon’s Prime Video series *The Boys* is coming to an end after five thrilling seasons. Series creator Eric Kripke recently shared an update, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect as the saga reaches its conclusion.
The last episode of *The Boys* was released on July 18, 2024, and anticipation is high for the final season. In a new Instagram post, Kripke revealed some behind-the-scenes progress on Season 5. He wrote, “We’re hard at work finishing @theboystv Final Season. Here’s me and some of the VFX team today. Editing is all done, we’re roughly halfway finished with VFX, Music, Color.”
Kripke added, “I’m really happy with how it’s going and can’t wait for you to see. We go out with a bang. COMING (reasonably) SOON.”
Earlier in July, Kripke posted a heartfelt photo of himself in The Seven’s conference room at Vought Tower, marking his farewell to the iconic set. “This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude,” he shared. “We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them.”
Antony Starr, who portrayed the complex character Homelander, also posted an emotional message as filming wrapped on the final season. “This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience,” he expressed.
Referring to Kripke, Starr added, “We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you. Til we roll out the last season. When I’ll see you. But this creative chapter is closed and I’ll miss it, brother.”
With production nearing completion, fans can look forward to an explosive conclusion to *The Boys*—a series that has captivated audiences with its dark humor, intense action, and unforgettable characters. Stay tuned for the official release date of Season 5!
