MIAMI (AP) — Jake Paul’s highly anticipated boxing match against lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has been canceled. The bout, initially scheduled for November 14 in Miami, will no longer take place as planned.

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), Paul’s promotional organization, announced Saturday that it was reviewing the situation following a civil lawsuit filed against Davis in Miami-Dade County last week.

Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of MVP, stated that Paul is now preparing to headline a different event, which will be streamed on Netflix later this year. Details regarding the new opponent, date, and location will be released once finalized.

Originally, the fight was set to take place in Atlanta but was later moved to Florida. Despite the controversial decision to sanction the fight there, the match raised eyebrows due to the significant weight difference between the fighters. Paul typically competes at cruiserweight, roughly 50 pounds heavier than Davis’s 135-pound lightweight division where he holds a championship belt.

Further updates are expected as Paul and MVP confirm their upcoming plans ahead of the new bout scheduled before the end of 2025.
