Americana singer-songwriter Todd Snider found himself in serious trouble in Salt Lake City, Utah, following an unexpected turn of events after seeking medical treatment for injuries sustained in an attack.
The Nashville-based musician, 58, was brought to Salt Lake City Regional Hospital after what his team described as a violent assault outside his hotel. However, the situation escalated after doctors discharged him.
According to an arrest report obtained by TMZ, Snider became agitated when the hospital sent him home. He allegedly began shouting and swearing at hospital staff. When staff members asked him to leave the premises, he initially complied but then returned. Upon his return, police say Snider confronted a staff member aggressively, reportedly saying he was going to “kick [their] ass.”
The incident led to Snider’s arrest and subsequent booking at Salt Lake County Jail. He faces three charges: disorderly conduct, trespassing, and making a threat of violence. A spokesperson from the Salt Lake City Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Snider spent the night in jail before being released to pretrial services the following day.
This arrest occurred just one day after Snider was scheduled to perform in South Salt Lake as part of his High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour. Unfortunately, the show was canceled due to the assault and medical emergency.
In a statement posted on Snider’s official Instagram account, his team announced the cancellation of the entire tour. They explained that the “Beer Run” singer sustained serious injuries as a victim of a violent attack and would require time to recover.
