He opposed a White House proposal that called for a 50% cut in NASA’s science budget and a 20% reduction in its overall budget starting in 2026.
When questioned about NASA’s strategic goals concerning Mars, Isaacman stated he would operate with transparency and pursue a dual-track strategy focusing on both the Moon and Mars.

Senator Ed Markey asked Isaacman about his relationship with Elon Musk. Isaacman denied being close friends and stated he did not share NASA plans with Musk. He confirmed that he was interviewed only by Trump for the NASA role.
