**Apple Vision Pro review: M5 and nothing else**
The M5 chip doesn’t transform the Apple Vision Pro into a must-have consumer product, nor does it address Apple’s ongoing challenges with limited developer interest on the platform. However, it is an improvement, and that may be enough.
If you’ve been an Apple fan for some time, you’re likely familiar with the common complaints about overpowered hardware paired with an underserved software ecosystem. Interestingly, these criticisms have typically been directed at the iPad Pro, not the Apple Vision Pro.
The first iteration of the Apple Vision Pro, powered by the M2 chip and launched in 2024, was an unusual product. The chipset struggled to drive all the pixels on the display effectively. Yet, the software itself wasn’t particularly demanding on the chipset, with the exception of some games.
While the M5 provides better performance, it still doesn’t fully resolve the core issues facing the Vision Pro platform.
