BOSTON — Jaylen Brown scored 35 points as the Boston Celtics overcame a double-digit first-quarter deficit to defeat the Washington Wizards 136-107 on Wednesday night. The win extends Washington’s losing streak to six games.

Brown got off to a strong start, pouring in 16 points in the first quarter while also contributing five rebounds and five assists. He left the game with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, with Boston holding a commanding 19-point lead.

Neemias Queta added a double-double for the Celtics, finishing with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Minott provided a career-high 21 points off the bench. Despite the victory, Boston was limited to a season-low 41 attempts from beyond the three-point line, though they made a season-high 39% of those shots.

For Washington, Alex Sarr led the charge with 31 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots, marking his seventh consecutive game with at least two blocks. However, the Wizards have now lost nine straight games against the Celtics, a streak dating back to March 2023.

The Wizards started strong, building a 32-20 lead in the first quarter and still leading 39-30 early in the second. The Celtics responded with a dominant run, outscoring Washington 19-2 to take a lead they would never relinquish. Payton Pritchard was instrumental in this surge, scoring 10 of his 18 points during the run.

Boston carried a 10-point advantage into halftime, extended their lead to 22 after three quarters, and pushed the margin to 33 points in the fourth quarter while resting Brown and other starters.

Looking ahead, the Wizards will visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. The Celtics are set to play two games in Orlando on Friday and Sunday.
