WrestleMania 41 delivered several shocks and surprises for WWE fans, with some extremely memorable moments taking place at the Show of Shows. The main event of both nights featured surprising interventions that played a crucial role in determining the outcomes.

Night One concluded with Paul Heyman turning on both CM Punk and Roman Reigns, ultimately joining forces with Seth Rollins. This decision was met with positive reactions from almost all fans, adding an unexpected twist to the event.

However, the ending of Night Two did not sit well with most viewers. John Cena broke Ric Flair’s long-standing record of 16 World Title reigns by defeating Cody Rhodes to win his 17th World Championship. Despite this historic achievement, Cena’s victory was marred by a controversial interference from Travis Scott.

Not only fans but also John Cena Sr., the father of the 26-time WWE Champion, criticized the match’s ending. Cena Sr. expressed that having him come out to help Cena would have made for a better finish. He stated:

“They’d have been better off to have me come down to the ring and smash him to win that match. It probably would have, I’m not going, hey, you know, throw the old man in the ring, but it probably would have been a better take because we’d have blown The Rock off and we’d have taken care of the issue that was there. I feel bad because look at Cody Rhodes and The Rock, that story still hasn’t been finished.”

John Cena turned heel at the beginning of his WWE retirement tour. While his initial heel turn went viral, the overall heel run did not live up to expectations. Cena eventually turned face again at SummerSlam 2025, where he dropped the title back to Cody Rhodes.
