Air India Cancels Two International Flights Due to Typhoon Ragasa in Hong Kong
Air India has cancelled two international flights scheduled for Tuesday owing to adverse weather conditions caused by Typhoon Ragasa in Hong Kong. The affected flights include AI314 from Delhi to Hong Kong on September 23, and AI315 from Hong Kong to Delhi on September 24, according to a report by ANI.
An official statement from Air India confirmed that Flight AI314 (Delhi-Hong Kong, September 23) and AI315 (Hong Kong-Delhi, September 24) stand cancelled due to the severe weather forecast linked to Typhoon Ragasa in Hong Kong. The airline has extended full refunds or a one-time complimentary rescheduling in the same class to all affected passengers.
“We regret the inconvenience caused by this situation beyond our control,” the statement read. Passengers are being offered full refunds or the option to reschedule their flights once conditions permit safe flying. Operations to and from Hong Kong will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.
For passenger support, Air India has issued 24×7 helpline numbers: 011-69329333 and 011-69329999. The airline emphasized that the safety of its passengers remains its highest priority.
This disruption follows the temporary suspension of all passenger flights at Hong Kong International Airport for a 36-hour period, from 8 pm on September 23 to 8 am on September 25, due to Super Typhoon Ragasa. This information was reported by Qantas Airways and cited by Reuters in the ANI report.

Air India Group to Launch Operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport
In other news, the Air India group has announced significant expansion plans by launching commercial flights from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), which is being developed and operated by Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. This strategic collaboration highlights the group’s long-term ambition to enhance both domestic and international connectivity.
The move supports India’s emergence as the world’s third-largest air passenger market by 2030.
In the initial phase, Air India Express—the group’s low-cost carrier—will operate 20 daily departures (equivalent to 40 Air Traffic Movements) from NMIA, connecting the new airport to 15 Indian cities. By mid-2026, operations are planned to be scaled up to 55 daily departures (110 ATMs), including up to five international flights per day.
By the Winter 2026 schedule, the group projects further growth to 60 daily departures (120 ATMs), facilitating connections to major domestic and international destinations.
