In a recent interview, 6ix9ine joked that Demi Lovato would relapse, even suggesting sending her drugs to make it happen. Speaking with Andie Elle on her podcast, the rapper initially seemed to claim that Miranda Cosgrove, who played Carly Shay on the Nickelodeon show *iCarly*, was using cocaine before clarifying that he was actually referring to Demi Lovato.
When Elle brought up Lovato’s sobriety, 6ix9ine responded sharply at the 44:25 mark: “She’s gonna relapse. Let’s send her a gift,” he said. “Let’s send her some [censored], make her relapse.”
Later, 6ix9ine told TMZ that his remark was an attempt at dark humor. “Dark humor is going extinct,” he explained. “People in this generation are just overly sensitive.”
Demi Lovato’s struggles are well-documented. Following her near-fatal overdose in 2018, she revealed in the docuseries *Dancing With the Devil* that she suffered three strokes, sustained brain damage, and had a heart attack. “I actually don’t think people realize how bad it actually was,” she said. “I had three strokes. I had a heart attack. I suffered brain damage from the strokes. I can’t drive anymore, and I have blind spots in my vision.”
Lovato also shared that she had pneumonia due to asphyxiation and experienced multiple organ failure. She admitted that prior to her overdose, she had started experimenting with harder drugs such as crack and heroin during a relapse.
Reflecting on her survival, Lovato said she is “really lucky to be alive.” She recalled, “My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes, and had my assistant not come in, I wouldn’t be here today.”
As of now, Demi Lovato has not publicly addressed 6ix9ine’s remarks.
