Hamas-led authorities in Gaza have executed three men accused of collaborating with Israel, a Palestinian official confirmed, according to a report by *The Times of Israel*.

The executions were carried out on Sunday by the “Joint Operations Room of the Palestinian resistance.” A video circulated widely on social media shows a masked man warning “all collaborators” before the men were shot in front of a crowd.

**A Message of Deterrence**

The Palestinian security official stated that the executions were intended to send “a clear message and serve as a deterrent to anyone tempted to collaborate with the occupation.”

In the video, three blindfolded men are seen kneeling, then being kicked onto their fronts before being shot in front of onlookers. Reuters verified the location as Gaza City by matching the buildings, gas stations, road layouts, and street signs visible in the footage with satellite images and previous records.

**Rising Opposition Within Gaza**

Reports from residents and sources close to Hamas indicate that, two years into the ongoing conflict and amid relentless Israeli military pressure, small armed factions opposing Hamas have emerged in various parts of Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly acknowledged in June that Israel is arming clans opposed to Hamas, though he did not specify which groups.

The most prominent anti-Hamas faction is led by Yasser Abu Shabab in Rafah, a southern Gaza area partly controlled by Israel. Abu Shabab’s group recently advertised for recruits with police and security experience, offering monthly salaries ranging from NIS 3,000 to NIS 5,000 (approximately $890–$1,500).

**Ongoing Struggle and Hamas’ Grip**

Israeli analysts monitoring Palestinian affairs suggest that although Hamas is currently weakened, it retains the capability to swiftly suppress rival groups should a ceasefire be established.

However, the ongoing conflict hampers Hamas’s efforts, as these rival factions operate primarily in areas under Israeli control.

Other opposition groups have also surfaced in Beit Lahiya, Shejaiya, and eastern Khan Younis.

Palestinian analyst Akram Attallah commented that the recent executions demonstrate Hamas’s concerns, as these groups are expanding beyond their traditional zones and pose an increasing threat.

**Public Dissent Against Hamas**

In May, hundreds of Palestinians in southern Gaza protested publicly against Hamas. Demonstrators were seen chanting, “Out! Out! Out! All of Hamas, out!” reflecting growing dissatisfaction amid the prolonged conflict.

The recent executions underscore the escalating tension within Gaza, revealing both Hamas’s determination to maintain control and the challenges posed by emerging armed factions amid ongoing war conditions.
