Warhorse Studios’ *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* has turned a lot of heads this year as an immersive medieval RPG featuring compelling systems and an engaging story. Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED is developing its own medieval RPG and recently made a significant move by recruiting a key developer from *Kingdom Come 2* to assist with *The Witcher 4*.

Former Warhorse Lead Game Designer Karel Kolmann has joined CD Projekt RED as a Senior Quest Designer. This is a notable acquisition for CD Projekt RED, as Kolmann announced the news on his social media earlier this week. His tweet graphic simply states, “I’m happy to share that I’ve joined CD Projekt RED.”

Kolmann’s LinkedIn profile provides a bit more detail, confirming his new position as Senior Quest Designer at CD Projekt RED.

Over his eight-year tenure at Warhorse Studios, Kolmann played a crucial role in the development of the *Kingdom Come* series. He served as a writer, quest designer, game designer, and ultimately as Lead Game Designer. Among his most significant contributions were his work as one of the lead architects of *Kingdom Come 2*’s Hardcore Mode and its intricate law system.

Given his track record, it’s no surprise that many of the positive elements highlighted in Guides Editor Sam Chandler’s review of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* were likely influenced by Kolmann’s expertise.

With Kolmann now part of CD Projekt RED’s team, fans can look forward to fresh and engaging quest designs in *The Witcher 4* and possibly see some of his creative influence in upcoming projects.
