The Devil Wears Prada 2 unveiled its highly anticipated first teaser on Wednesday morning. While the teaser reveals little about the sequel’s plot—on which 20th Century Studios remains tight-lipped—it does offer a tantalizing glimpse featuring Anne Hathaway entering an elevator after Meryl Streep’s character. Streep’s Miranda Priestly delivers the line, “Took you long enough,” setting a playful tone for what’s to come.
Following up on the beloved 2006 fashion-world dramedy starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci—all of whom are returning—the sequel is expected to explore Miranda Priestly’s perspective as she navigates the challenges posed by the decline of the print industry.
The original film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel of the same name, followed Hathaway’s character, Andy Sachs, a recent journalism graduate who moves to New York City and begins her demanding role as Priestly’s junior assistant.
Slated for release in theaters on May 1, 2026, the sequel also boasts an impressive cast including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B. J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. Returning cast members Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman will reprise their roles, and Lady Gaga is expected to make an appearance, having recently been spotted on set.
David Frankel returns to direct, with a script penned by Aline Brosh McKenna. Wendy Finerman and Karen Rosenfelt are producing the film.
